Steamfitters
This is the only trade to specialize in planning, design and installation of low- and high-pressure steam systems. Steamfitters build the powerhouses that supply electricity. They install piping in the food and beverage industry. They use extreme precision to cut, weld and bend pipe into systems that transport resources in oil refineries, food processing plants, pharmaceutical plants, manufacturing facilities and power plants. They keep your indoor air clean and safe, temperatures regulated and HVACR systems working at peak efficiency.
HVACR Service Technicians
Because they often work to keep your indoor environment comfortable, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) service technicians are in high demand. These professionals apply theoretical knowledge about the laws of physics to the installation, maintenance and repair of all sizes of HVACR units. Some technicians focus on mainstream HVACR equipment like furnaces and air conditioners for residential and commercial customers, while others specialize in solar panels, commercial refrigeration or other specific areas of the field.
Plumbers
Plumbers design, install, maintain and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures for water, sewage, drainage, wastewater and gas systems according to codes and specifications. Plumbers are trained to do everything from digging trenches for new pipelines, to installing pipe assemblies and hardware for dishwashers, water heaters, showers and lavatories in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
