Working in the sheet metal industry offers an exciting, high-tech career for people who like working with their hands and solving problems. The Colorado Sheet Metal Workers JATC is currently accepting applications for the 2020 & 2021 apprenticeship programs. Apprentices work with any of our 50+ contractors while learning the skills necessary to excel in the sheet metal industry. You'll get paid to work while you learn, and the cost of your education is on us.
Workers in the sheet metal industry are involved in every phase of the designing, construction and maintenance of buildings. From utilizing computer aided drafting software and designing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, to producing and installing thousands of precision fittings that make up that system, to testing and balancing the system to ensure efficient operation and maintaining the system for years to come, sheet metal workers do it all. And that doesn’t even include the work that these skilled professionals do in architectural sheet metal, siding, roofing, and custom metal fabrication. Jumpstart your career in the sheet metal industry — apply for the SMART Heroes training program created exclusively for veterans!
The SMART Heroes program puts veterans through an accelerated 7-8 week program that grants credit for the entire 1st year of the standard apprenticeship program. Once you’ve graduated the program, you’ll be considered a second-year apprentice.
The SMART Heroes program and the Colorado Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship Program are accredited programs that earn you college credits and qualify for V.A. benefits, so you can draw educational benefits under the G.I. Bill while getting a free education in the sheet metal industry for free.
